The Occupational Therapy Program at Barry University blog offers a pioneering curriculum that leads to a Master of Science degree, and prepares students for certification as a registered occupational therapist. The campus occupational therapy courses are programmed on two weekends each month in the fall, summer and spring, semesters, so that adults may maintain to work or increase their families while preparing for a proficient career.
Duties of students preparing for careers as Occupational Therapists are:
Readiness for Learning
All prospective and current students in the occupational therapy program must possess the emotional and intellectual capabilities necessary to undertake the full curriculum and to achieve the levels of competence mandatory by the faculty and the occupational therapy career.
Attendance and Participation
Occupational therapists believe that people learn best by doing. Occupational therapy professionals and students are members of a teaching/learning team, and all team members must be present and keenly occupied, in order to make the process of learning work
Professional Behavior
All aspects of Barry University’s Policy on Dishonesty as described in the Student Handbook apply to students in the Occupational Therapy Program.
Computer Access
Right to use to and enduring use of a computer is required for all students to complete the Occupational Therapy Program successfully.
